Fruits of Aurora

Description
The Aurora Borealis shines bright with tall pink and purple pillars over fruit orchards in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. This image was made before dawn as astronomical twilight took hold, providing a brightening glow and creating the blueish tint to the sky. This is a special area, where the wide Columbia River forms the border between Oregon and Washington, with mountains, orchards, forests and waterfalls creating an idyllic landscape in the Pacific Northwest.
