Beacons of the Night

Description
What look like little illuminated matchsticks are actually giant wind turbines that dot the mountains surrounding the Columbia River Gorge in Washington state and Oregon. The red lights are warning indicators for aircraft. While out photographing the Aurora Borealis, I turned and caught the galactic center of the Milky Way perfectly positioned over the turbines, which look so small in comparison to the vastness of the night sky.
